Day 10 - Fixing the issue...

With the upcoming final exams in sight, it was time for the team to split up.
Half of the team was heading back to England via Chicago...
Half of the team stayed to work towards perfection in the Indy event...

After working hard to meet the academic requirements of our project, the team took the kart back out to the Purdue track on another sunny afternoon! The track was smoking hot with a track temperature of 35 degrees!!!

With some overseas support on the settings of the speed controller, the intermittent cut out issue seemed to have been resolved after some great effort in diagnosis and reprogramming.

Now all we need is to make sure it's reliable, and it could reveals its maximum potential soon.

Experiments in using different rear sprockets and trying some different gearing will be the next steps in the optimization process.

The sun was setting before anyone on the track noticed.
Probably it's a good idea to head back to the motel for some well-deserved rest...
