Great wrap up for the Horizon2020 GATEKEEPER project
On 23 February 2024 the final review for the GATEKEEPER project with the monitoring officers from the European commission took place in Madrid.
This project, aimed at the design, development and validation of an artificial-intelligence based platform for the active and healthy ageing, lasted over 4 years and reached fruitful results, thanks to the joint effort of a mixed Consortium of universities, research centres, and companies.
The visionary project proposal was coordinated in 2018 by Prof Leandro Pecchia, Dr Giuseppe Fico (Associate Professor at UPM) and Medtronic. The project has then involved other members of the ABSPIE Lab who were key for such successful delivery, including Dr Davide Piaggio, Dr Silvio Pagliara, Dr Alessia Maccaro, Dr Salman Haleem.
Now, the last milestone of the project has just been completed!
The monitoring officers were extremely happy with the results of the project:
"You got beyond the exceptations, also including all the COVID challenges and that you work in the health field. We believe you have well defined exploitable results, you have demonstrated this point of strength. You've really done well. It was our absolute pleasure to review this project. You demonstarted team spirit and comradery since day 1 in this very large and diverse project. Well done, looking to see something forward in the future!"
