Effect of temperature on cross-ventilation
In naturally ventilated buildings, flow is often driven by wind or temperature. Often it is both these forces that determine the flow. I will demonstrate that temperature differences have very little effect on wind-dominated cross ventilation, while wind can increase buoyancy-dominated exchange ventilation by up to 40%. These results have implications for how we model flow inside buildings.
