Kyle Jiang is a Professor with the University of Birmingham. He has been with the School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Birmingham since 1999. He is a mechanical engineer by training. He received his PhD degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, King’s College London, in 1994, and has been working with mechanical engineering schools and department at King’s, Liverpool and Birmingham. Over the years, he has expanded his research interest into micro/nanotechnology at the University of Birmingham and built a strong research team and micro/nano-fabrication laboratories.
He has over 200 research publications in books, peer reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. He has received research grants from Joint Infrastructure Fund, EPSRC (GR/R58802/01, EP/D059933), TSB (DT/E010571/1), EU (044515, 226460) and companies from the UK, USA and China.
Prof. Jiang is active in the international research community. He was the general chair of 2012 IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology, general co-chair of 2011 International Conference on NanoSciences, Technology and Social Implications and participated in ten other international conference organisations. He is a guest editor of some high profile journals, including IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology and a member of the editorial board of Journal of Ceramics, International Journal of Nanoparticles, and Journal of Applied Mechanical Engineering. He has delivered keynote speeches, given seminars in the the UK, USA, China and Egypt.
