Measurement for, and calculation of, characteristic strengths and stiffnesses of FRP materials to be scoped in the FRP structural Eurocode. Focus will be given to assessing test methods and test procedures that can be recommended for a standard test method (currently standard test methods from BSI, CEN, ASTM are not suitable for FRP materials found in civil engineering (new-build) works). Because measurement of shear properties is a specific challenge it will be a major theme of the research work.
