An opportunity for outstanding international research leaders to undertake a flexible 12 month period of sabbatical leave in a UK university or research institution, to foster international collaborative links and enriching scientific research in the host organisation as well as the wider UK science base.
Mathematical and computational foundations of artificial intelligence

Award range: £7,500,000–£10,000,000
This supports the creation of up to 3 cross-disciplinary hubs that will, through advancing underpinning mathematical and computational concepts, develop novel approaches to methodological challenges in AI. Maximum funding per application (at 80% full economic cost) is £8m and minimum funding per application (at 80% full economic cost) is £6m.
Leader for research in digital twinning for decarbonising transport

This supports the establishment of a digital twinning research hub to support the decarbonisation and improved integration of the transport systems in the UK. EPSRC will fund 80 per cent of the full economic cost of each project up to £500,000.
