Systems Modelling and Measurement
Research in the systems modelling and measurement group at the School of Engineering is undertaken by four key laboratories. Academics in this grouping combine a wide variety of expertise and strengths across several discipline boundaries. Modelling and measurement have essential interdependence, therefore the group blends an innovative mix of theory, computational methods and experimental activities.
Each member of the group is associated with one of the laboratories but most are also associated with a second, thereby underlining the interdisciplinary nature of their work.
Applied Biomedical Signal Processing and Intelligent eHealth LaboratoryAdvanced biomedical signal processing, machine learning and eHealth, applied to emerging problems of health and wellbeing. ----- |
Biomedical and Biological Systems LaboratoryResearch involves innovative theoretical studies and applications to a wide range of problems in biomedicine, biology and pharmacokinetics ----- |
NanoBioengineering LaboratoryPrimary aim of the laboratory is to investigate the biomechanical characteristics of single biological cells, such as endothelial, fibroblasts and beta-cells, in a quantitative manner. ----- |
Optical Engineering LaboratoryThe Optical Engineering Laboratory (OEL) at the University of Warwick is actively researching many areas, with main binding factor being development of (non-intrusive) diagnostics. ----- |
Precision Engineering and Surfaces LaboratoryHigh quality measurement underpins all science, technology and commerce. Our strengths in precision mechanics bring together those wishing to devise novel measurement schemes, instruments and other precision machines, with those that wish to use them. ----- |
Stochastic and Complex Systems LaboratoryResearch involves a multidisciplinary approach to the study of complex engineering systems by utilising methods and techniques from the physical, biological and mathematical sciences with applications in biomimetics and automotive systems. ----- |
