To all members of the School of Engineering,

We are delighted to confirm that the School, having received the Athena Swan Silver Award for gender equality since 2019, has now achieved Gold Award status from Advance HE.

We are the second department at University of Warwick to achieve Athena Swan Gold (after Warwick Business School in 2024), and are among a handful of Engineering departments to have achieved this level nationally.

Athena Swan Gold status is awarded to departments that: . demonstrate structures and processes which underpin and recognise gender equality work; . demonstrate evidence-based recognition of the key issues facing the department; . develop and deliver an action plan to address identified key issues; . provide evidence of success in addressing gender inequality; . provide evidence of sector-leading gender equality practice and supporting others to improve.

The news is not under embargo, and we will be highlighting the award next week with the support of the university comms team.
