Workshop: GTA Tips and Tricks: Intercultural Insights

Dear GTA colleagues,

We would like to invite you to participate in our GTA Tips and Tricks workshop “Intercultural Insights: Enhancing your teaching Reflective Practices” where you will learn a model to reflect on your intercultural experience as a GTAs at Warwick. In the workshop, you will have opportunities to connect with other GTAs from diverse disciplinary backgrounds and the wider Warwick GTA community. It will be facilitated by Dr. Zi Wang (Student Opportunity) and Yvette Wang (Applied Linguistics). It is funded Warwick International Higher Education Academy (WIHEA). Refreshments will be provided. How is it relevant to you?

· Connect with Warwick Postgraduate Teaching Community and enhance your applications for APP PGR and paid jobs with WPTC (APP PGR stands for Academic and Professional Pathway for Postgraduate Researchers who Teach. The program is externally accredited by Advance HE and leads to a recognised Higher Education teaching status. WPTC is a community of practice championing the PGR teacher voice. It is joint funded by the Academic Development Centre and Doctoral College and every year we employ a small number of PGR teachers through Unitemps to lead the work, including the editorial process for the Journal of Postgraduate Pedagogic Practice)

 

· Evidence your application for Warwick International Higher Education Academy fellowship (WIHEA leads and steers Warwick educational excellence. It is a collaborative community, comprising of fellows, alumni and members who each have a demonstrable commitment to learning and teaching. GTAs can become members of WIHEA, benefit from the many activities, events and networks the Academy offers, and access internal funds for educational activities.)

 

· Opportunity to evidence your teaching development in CV. This intercultural workshop is planned to lead to a special issue publication of Journal of Postgraduate Pedagogic Practice and a conference panel at PGR Teacher Conference.
