<< Call for papers >>
Second- and third-year PhD students are required to submit a short paper (two-page extended abstracts) which will be published in the Showcase Proceedings. You should consult with your supervisor(s) about what you will include in your abstract. You should consider writing your abstract for the general engineering audience of the Symposium. The Symposium proceedings will NOT be copyrighted or publicly shared (they will only be accessible to Symposium attendees, School staff, and PGR students). You may submit a manuscript or portion thereof that has already been published, but it should be updated for the target audience.
<< Submission instructions >>
Your paper should be in the form of an extended abstract and should be two A4 pages in length (including references) and prepared using the provided templates available on the Showcase’s website. Only PDF files should be submitted. Abstracts should be submitted though Tabula (2nd year submission link, 3rd year submission link). Please ensure you prepare your abstract in enough time for it to be reviewed by your supervisor before submission.
Review Process
The Showcase will have a light touch peer review process where each student submitting an abstract is REQUIRED to review 1-2 other abstracts within their subject area.
Camera-Ready Submissions
Once you receive the reviews for your abstract, you will have the opportunity to revise your abstract before the camera-ready submission via Tabula (assignment not yet published). The camera-ready version will be published in the internal Showcase proceedings to be shared within the School.
Information and updates from the Organising Committee can all be found on the Showcase webpages. Please let us know if you have any questions, we can add them to the FAQ below.
Best regards,
