Novel Power Electronic Devices and Converters
This project is in collaboration with the EPSRC underpinning power electronics research at Warwick. It involves the modelling and characterisation of advanced power electronic devices in converters for automotive and power systems. Device and system level performance will be investigated as well as reliability, electromagnetic emissions and condition monitoring. The student will work in advanced wide bandgap power semiconductor devices and investigate the trade-offs between power density and reliability. Other aspects of the project will include the integration of these devices into power modules and optimal gate drive techniques. The successful candidate will be expected to perform teaching duties in the School of Engineering
