Professor Wright was Director of the National Vegetable Research Station (NVRS) at Wellesbourne (now Warwick Crop Centre) from 1967-1977.

Professor Wright started at NVRS on its formation in 1949 and before becoming Director was Head of the Entomology Section and also Deputy Director from 1957.

Professor Denley Wright died on 4th April 2013.
