Combining Research and Industry to Improve Food Security

Vegetable Gene Bank

Warwick Crop Centre holds the UK Vegetable Genebank (UKVGB), which is made up of thousands of seeds from across the country to ensure the conservation of the genetic diversity of our much-loved vegetables. Plant breeders can access these stores to help develop new varieties that meet current and future challenges.

Vegetable Genetic Improvement Network

The Vegetable Genetic Improvement Network (VeGIN) is an interactive network of researchers and industry leaders who work together to promote market delivery of improved vegetable varieties using sustainable production systems. The network focuses on crops such as carrots, lettuce, onions, and brassicas.

Fresh Produce Knowledge Exchange Hub

Warwick Crop Centre introduces its new Fresh Produce Knowledge Exchange Hub, linking agronomists and growers to academic researchers. The Hub covers a range of horticultural crops with resources available from AHDB, CABI, and RHS.
