Crops growing for the RIPEHouse project (funded by Defra Farming Innovation Pathways programme) to demonstrate food production under optimal conditions of British sunlight (including UV stimulation) and nutrition (macro and micro nutrients).
In Zone 1 (west end, near entrance), a range of new world crops (mostly Mexican) are growing to identify varieties that complement urbean eating.
In Zone 2 (east end), snack cucumber is being used for replicated trials to evaluate biostimulants that may boost fruit quality and yield by reducing the impact of abiotic stress.
