Suction trap captures for carrot crops

Willow-carrot aphid is known to transmit virus to carrot crops. It is possible that two species of parsnip aphid and Myzus persicae also transmit viruses to carrot and thereby reduce yield (see Factsheet 07/16 Virus diseases of carrots and the report for FV382b). The parsnip aphids are Cavariella pastinacae and Cavariella theobaldi.

This link leads to a summary of the captures of aphids relevant to carrot crops made by the network of suction traps run by the Rothamsted Insect Survey and SASA.
