We're evaluating commercially-available SMART traps to monitor carrot fly as part of the EU Horizon 2020 SmartProtect H2020 – IPM THEMATIC NETWORK (smartprotect-h2020.eu). The trap surface can be photographed at set times and viewed online.

The management of bean seed fly has been causing considerable concern for growers over the last few years. Several organisations are working on the problem and there are summaries of the work that has been undertaken in the past year. The approaches investigated represent several components of a developing IPM strategy.
