MMath Regulations

Integrated Masters Specifications - for those students whose programme of study starting in 2021/22 or later

For students whose programme of study began in 2021/22 or later, general regulations governing Integrated Masters programmes can be seen in the University’s Credit and Module Framework and Rules for AwardLink opens in a new window. Please note carefully that these are not the only regulations governing your programme of study, you will also need to look at the Course Regulations governing your programme of study for each year which are described elsewhere in this handbook.

Which Rules for Award apply to you depends on which academic year your programme of study began in.

  1. Pass all required core modules (where they exist)
  2. Achieve an overall year average greater than or equal to 40.
  3. Pass 90 CATS of modules from year 1 to year 2, at FHEQ level 5 or above to progress from year 2 to year 3 and at FHEQ level 6 or above to progress from year 3 to year 4, in each case from a total of at least 120 CATS.

Note that these are just the university regulations, there are additional department requirements and, in particular, special requirements to proceed from year 2 to year 3 of G103 and to proceed from year 3 to year 4 of G103.

To be awarded an MMath degree at the end of year 4 students must

Note that there is an exception to the point 4 above for students whose programme began in 21/22, they need only take 105 CATS of modules at FHEQ level 7 of higher, all other requirements are the same.
