Sad passing of Dr Stefan Adams

It is with great sadness that we post the news that Stefan passed away on 8th May.

Stefan was a world-class researcher in probability, who enriched the academic life of the department by his readiness to collaborate, the workshops he organised, and the visitors he attracted. He was a well-liked and valued member of the Mathematics Institute: a kind and helpful colleague, a popular lecturer, and an attentive tutor. He was a dedicated PhD supervisor, passing on his passion for the subject to the next generation.

He will be much missed by staff and students alike.
