About Me

I am a second year PhD student under the supervision of Dr Gareth Tracey and Dr Adam Thomas, working on permutation group theory. More specifically, I am investigating bounds on minimal generator numbers for primitive permutation groups.

I previously completed my MMath degree at Warwick, including a third year project on cycles in Cayley graphs and a fourth year project on the group-theoretic proof of Burnside's theorem.

I can be contacted at . My office is B3.04, but I am rarely there and can be most often found in my adopted office of B1.0π.

Other Activities

Outside of my degree, I keep very busy! See below for details of some of the things I get up to around the University.

Committee Roles

I am a rare example of someone who is passionate about University policy and governance! Since I started my PhD, I have been the PGR SEM faculty rep and a course rep for the SGSLC. As an undergraduate, I was part of the SSLC throughout my degree and chair for the last three years of my degree.

Click below to see what elected positions I have held and what committees I have been on.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

I am also very involved with many projects surrounding diversity and inclusion at the University. Some examples of work I have been involved with includes:

Outreach

I enjoy getting involved with maths outreach events at Warwick and beyond - click through to see a few examples of things I have been involved with!

Royal Institution logo

Royal Institution Masterclasses

I have supported the Royal Institution Masterclasses at Warwick, which are extracurricular workshops for Year 9 students interested in maths beyond the classroom, including writing and delivering a masterclass on the maths behind cryptography.

MEI logo

Problem Solving Matters

I support the annual Problem Solving Matters course at Warwick, where Year 12 students interested in studying maths-related subjects at university are supported to develop their problem-solving skills and prepare for admissions tests.

UKMT logo

UKMT Mentoring

I am a mentor for the UKMT mentoring scheme, which supports keen young mathematicians in developing their problem-solving skills.

Chalkdust logo

Chalkdust Magazine

I occasionally volunteer as an editor for Chalkdust magazine, a magazine for the mathematically curious.

I have been involved with Issue 18 and Issue 23 (coming soon!).
