Benjamin Jordan

I am a first-year PhD student in the Mathematics CDT, under the supervision of Professor Mike Tildesley. I am interested in the mathematical modelling of infectious diseases, primarily in livestock. I especially enjoy answering questions on how best to control an outbreak under competing objectives.

I completed my MMath at the University of Warwick between 2022 – 2026. My Masters project was focused on the 2001 Foot-and-Mouth disease outbreak in the UK, and investigated different reactive vaccination and culling policies for reducing direct costs associated with the outbreak. A short simulated outbreak across Cumbria can be viewed here.
