Structures and Waves in Anisotropic Turbulence
Warwick Mathematics Institute 3-7 Nov 2008
This workshop is a satellite event of the Isaac Newton Institute; Programme "The Nature of High Reynolds Number Turbulence", 26 Aug - 19 Dec 2008. It is also a follow-up to the Warwick Turbulence Symposium activities.
This workshop will focus on fundamental effects in turbulence arising due to the presence of waves or structures in anisotropic media. Turbulence anisotropy may be caused by an external applied magnetic field (plasma and MHD systems), rotation and stratification (GFD), etc. We will cover a range of application areas, from astrophysical to geophysical to laboratory systems, with the main emphasis on finding common features in these different flows, as well as identifying their fundamental differences.
Registration is now open. Please register via the Mathematical Research Centre's Events Registration page.
