EPSRC Symposium Workshop on Non-equilibrium dynamics of spatially extended interacting particle systems (NEQ)

Introduction
Spatially extended interacting particle systems (IPS) play an increasingly important role in modelling a variety of natural and social phenomena characterised by the presence of a large number of correlated degrees of freedom. One of the fundamental challenges is to develop general methods of theoretical study of IPS and understand their applicability conditions. Topics covered by the workshop include classical kinetics of IPS, strong fluctuation effects and multiscaling, emergence of complex behaviour in IPS, non-equilibrium phase transtions and pattern formation, application of IPS to the study of biological complex systems.
