Recent advances in modern dynamics

EPSRC Symposium Workshop: Recent advances in modern dynamics

12th - 16th December 2011

Organisers: Alex Gorodnik (Bristol), Mark Pollicott, Sebastian van Strien and Corinna Ulcigrai (Bristol)

There will be short courses of approximately 3 lectures each by:

  • Sylvain Crovisier (Dynamics of C1-diffeomorphisms and their perturbations)
  • Sebastien Gouezel (on ergodic properties of the Teichmüller geodesic flow)
  • Bryna Kra (on multiple ergodic averages)
  • Federico Rodriguez Hertz (rigidity of higher rank abelian actions)

These lectures are intended to be accessible to younger researchers working in dynamical systems, who are not experts in the field (although, of course, experts are welcome too).

We also plan to have a selection of research talks by some of the participants.

All lectures will take place in Room B3.03 in the Zeeman Building.

The programme can be found by clicking "programme" above.
