Why study with us?
At Warwick, we have a passion for mathematics. Actually, it’s more than that; we live and breathe it.
Ever since the Mathematics Institute was founded we’ve been innovators, and our chalkboards have been used by some of the brightest students under the guidance of world-leading academics who are renowned for both their teaching and their research. And that’s only part of what makes us special.
What makes Warwick special?
Across all of our courses, at all levels, we want to help you solve problems. If your problem right now is deciding whether or not to study maths at Warwick, here are some facts to consider.
Our spaces
Our home, the purpose-built Zeeman building, sits at the heart of campus and has been designed for you to immerse yourself in mathematics. With large lecture theatres for teaching, and lots of supervision areas each with their own chalkboard to help you work things out, this is the ideal place to pursue your passion for maths.
Our supervisions
In groups of around 5 students, you’ll be led by a fourth-year or PhD student twice a week to work through what you’ve been taught in the lectures and broaden your understanding. And these supervisions are not simply small lectures; you’ll be handed a piece of chalk and encouraged to work things out with your classmates.
Our courses & modules
You are free to do 100% maths, or if you prefer, we offer the opportunity to choose options from several other world-class departments at Warwick to personalise your degree, and suit your interests and potential career. Some of our third- and fourth-year modules offer a glimpse of the latest developments in mathematics research.
Our teaching
By studying maths at Warwick you’ll get a rich learning experience. Innovative, modern teaching practices sit alongside traditional approaches, and the two combined will give you a fulfilling degree and prepare you for success after graduation.
