What do academic technologists do?

  • Provide support and guidance to academics using technology to enhance and support research, teaching and learning.
  • Identify and assess opportunities offered by technology and provide support and advice on implementation.
  • Promote and support staff and students working together to explore the impacts of digital technology on learning, on learning-teaching relationships, and on health and wellbeing.

TEAL

The term Technology Enhanced Active Learning (TEAL) is used to incorporate all forms of teaching and learning supported by technology. In our move to more blended, distance and flexible online delivery the term TEAL, is used to capture the shift in focus towards the more active participation of the student.

We define TEAL as the tools, skills and practices to support teaching and learning, for face to face, blended and online learning, in both physical and virtual spaces.

TEAL is not just a supplement to teaching, it is a key enabler of every student having access to the best possible learning opportunities throughout their time at Warwick.
