The MSc in Clinical Applications of Psychology is designed for Psychology graduates who plan to apply for admission to doctoral training programmes in Clinical Psychology and wish to strengthen their credentials for the competitive entry process.
"This MSc offers an excellent opportunity to combine academic and practical experience in the field of Clinical Psychology. It was a fantastic experience for me. I cannot recommend this course enough for those wishing to pursue a career in this field.
Members of the course team, lecturers and Clinical Psychology Doctorate trainees were extremely supportive and helpful. Seminars were very engaging, both through excellent facilitators and enthusiastic fellow course members, who were always willing to participate in discussion. Questions were welcomed and support was wholly provided throughout the programme.
During the course, in April 2016, I was accepted on the Practitioner Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Surrey. I am now in my second year of the Doctorate and believe that this MSc Clinical Applications of Psychology course at the University of Warwick helped prepare me greatly for the course.
The research skills I developed during the MSc well-equipped me for embarking on a major research project and literature review as part of the Doctorate. In addition, the 6-month placement immensely enhanced my understanding of evidence-based practice and the role of Clinical Psychology in the NHS. The MSc provided an excellent platform from which to grow my understanding and experience of working in the NHS.
Lastly, the workload and range of demands which you are required to manage during the MSc cultivated my time-management skills, which are crucial when training to be a clinical psychologist and beyond. " Jenny Csecs
