What is the NSS?
Approx. half a million final year students across the UK are invited to take part in the National Student Survey (NSS) every year. The University takes the results of the National Student Survey seriously. Your feedback helps to shape and improve teaching, learning and student support at Warwick for future cohorts.
When is it?
You'll be invited to complete the NSS between January and April in your final year.

What can you do right now?
If you want to share your views and feedback on the course before then, you should contact the Student-Staff Liaison Committee. Read about them in the next section.
The Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) provides a voice for students to share their feedback and concerns with course representatives.
The SSLC make recommendations to the Statistics Staff to dicuss if they are actionable within the course.

This email is managed by the Chair and Secretary and any issues will be forwarded onto SSLC for discussion.
We evaluate you by marking your coursework and exams. In turn, you evaluate us.
During term, we'll invite you to complete an online evaluation questionnaire. This gives you the opportunity to express your views on various aspects of the module. We really value the feedback we receive from you, and are often able to make improvements after hearing your thoughts and suggestions.
Departmental management reviews comments and publishes a summary of results.

The Department of Statistics runs a teaching prize to recognise good teaching, enhance teaching excellence and support sharing of good practice.
The teaching prize was inaugurated in 2019, and the most recent winners in the 2020/21 academic year were Dr Elke Thönnes and Dr Massimiliano Tamborrino.
During Term 2 you are invited to submit nominations for any members of staff from the department of Statistics.

Noy only can you nominate a teacher for a Statistics award, but for the centrally recognised Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATEs).
They offer a familiar and well-loved monument to the successful educators within the teaching community.
