This workshop will investigate fairness, effectiveness and efficiency of algorithms in legal systems. Definitions of bias, transparency and explainability of decisions will be covered. Good practice in development and evaluation of statistical and machine learning algorithms, including design of randomised studies for evaluation, will be discussed.

This workshop will encourage statisticians with a wide range of expertise and interests to contribute to the
development of the law and legal processes.
