Statistical theory with a long reach...
I made this poster for the 2013 "International Year of Statistics" public event at Warwick, What has Statistics Ever Done for You...?"
The poster lists just a few of the research works — in widely differing fields — that have used this particular piece of statistical theory. (Biometrika is one of the premier journals worldwide in statistical theory.)
It's a very pleasing (to me!) example of how new developments in Statistics, however theoretical they might be, can have a major effect on the quality of research that is done in a very wide range of other disciplines!
