Data Science 3rd year projects

I have supervised several data science projects. My general approach is to work with students to find a data set, or data sets which are of interest. This can begin with a general interest, say in feature films, followed by a search for data sets, and a decision on the questions to be addressed. Alternatively, I know there are large data sets on road traffic accidents, and on learning to drive. I also have collaborations with colleagues in Warwick Medical School, and students have addressed questions posed about data from clinical trials run by WMS.

I am currently working on covid-19 data, and it is possible that a reduced subset of the data might be available as a basis for a project.

Students learn how to clean data (or `wrangle' it?), carry out analyses in a logical order, including deciding on the appropriate statistical methods, and then provide a written summary of results suitable for a general readership.

I am open to discussions by email or video conference.

Data and Meta-data.
