Yunus Cobanoglu
I am a PhD student in Statistics at the University of Warwick, supervised by Matthew Thorpe and Wenkai Xu and part of Prob AI. My research interests are in deep learning, with a focus on optimization and, in particular, on a phenomenon known as implicit regularization or implicit bias.
I completed my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) and my Master's degree in Mathematics in Data Science at the Technical University of Munich. From 2019 to 2022, I worked part-time as a software developer on the Electronic Babylonian Library project, led by Prof. Enrique Jimenez at the Institute for Assyriology & Hittitology at LMU.
You can find a list of my publications on Google Scholar.

Outside of mathematics, I play jazz guitar and was enrolled in the Jazz Bachelor's program at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich.
