Marco Palma

I am a 2nd year PhD student in Statistics under the supervision of Dr Julia Brettschneider (Warwick), Prof Thomas Nichols (Oxford Big Data Institute) and Dr Shahin Tavakoli (Warwick). I am part of a joint CDT program between the University of Oxford and the University of Warwick called OxWaSP.

Before coming to Warwick, I earned a double bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Bologna (Italy) and the University of Glasgow (UK), then a master’s degree from the University of Bologna.

Research interests

I am interested in the development of statistical methods for the analysis of neuroimaging data. The analysis of brain scans represent nowadays a challenge for statisticians due to their inherent high dimensionality and their internal spatial structure. From a theoretical point of view, I am currently modelling these aspects using functional data analysis.
