Zeeman Institute for Systems Biology and Infectious Disease Epidemiology Research (SBIDER)
The new Zeeman Institute for Systems Biology and Infectious Disease Epidemiology Research (SBIDER) is launched! The new institute incorporates Warwick Systems Biology (WSB) and Warwick Infectious Disease Epidemiology Research (WIDER), bringing together two arms of Warwick's strong research base in mathematical approaches to biological and medical science. Led by Professor Matt Keeling, the Zeeman Institute for Systems Biology & Infectious Disease Epidemiology Research (SBIDER) will use mathematics, statistics, computer science and interdisciplinary science to address and understand challenges in biology and epidemiology with the ultimate goal of controlling disease.
Francis Lévi joins Warwick
The Centre is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Francis Lévi to a joint post in the Warwick Medical School and the Warwick Systems Biology Centre. He will have a clinical appointment at the University Hospital Birmingham. In his research he studies the role of the circadian clock in the mechanisms of cancer and its treatment with the objective of preventing cancer and improving the quality of life and cure rate of patients. He has for many years been an advocate of the use of approaches from systems biology in cancer research.
