Professional and Teaching Expertise
Matt has 19 years experience of teaching in secondary schools, with a range of experiences including subject specialism in Drama, middle management roles and from 2001-2006 and a variety of Senior Leadership roles including Designated Safeguarding Lead and Professional Development Coordinator. He has a long experience of coaching and mentoring in Schools. Matt is currently a Senior Manager for Standards in the Design, Development and Evaluation of General Qualifications at Ofqual.

Since 2006, Matt has worked alongside the CTE, initially as a subject mentor on the PGCE Programme, and then as a Professional Mentor on both the PGCE and School Direct programmes. He has also been an active member of the PGCE Secondary steering committee and supported CTE through the delivery of lectures and workshops, including on the role of subject and professional mentors, and on safeguarding in schools.

Academic Interests & Teaching & Learning Specialisms
Matt has a strong interest in teaching and learning and ITT, and since he started to work in partnership with CTE he has undertaken work on mentoring quality assurance and representing the Centre at events in the UK and the Netherlands.
