Information Evenings with CTE

Classroom

Thinking about studying with CTE?

You've taken the first step on your way to a truly inspirational career with the Centre for Teacher Education.

Studying with the University of Warwick will help you to become a resilient teacher, setting you on the path for a successful teaching and leadership career. All of our academics and teaching fellows are experienced school teachers, so what is ingrained in us, is passed on to you. We will help you to meet your potential, not simply meet the need.

Join us in our series of information evenings to learn more about our PGCEs, what routes you can take, and ask your questions.

What can you expect from an information evening?

Our PGCE Information Evenings provide information about our local PGCE with QTS programme. Our evenings are an opportunity to meet academic and administrative staff, ask questions and also meet other people who are considering our programmes. The PGCE with QTS programme is for individuals who already have a degree and want to train to be a teacher working in primary, secondary and special schools in England.

If you are an overseas qualified teacher who trained to teach outside of England, and you are looking to apply for qualified teacher status (QTS) to teach in English schools, please see the UK government website for further information.

We offer both in-person and online evenings depending on demand.
The in-person information evenings will follow this schedule:

5.45pm - Registrations, tea and coffee in the Avon Building
6pm - An introduction to teaching at Warwick
6.30pm - Primary (including Early Years) and Secondary focused sessions and time for questions

The online information evenings will follow this schedule:

6pm - An introduction to teaching at Warwick
6.30pm - Primary (including Early Years) and Secondary focused sessions and time for questions

What questions should I ask?

All questions will be answered, so feel free to ask anything - what to write in your application; what you will study; what life is like studying at the University of Warwick; what career opportunities you may have in the future etc.

What if I can't make the evening?

We also run digital lunches which are similar to our information evenings but always take place online and over lunchtime, so those with work or study commitments can hopefully join us!

We have lots of events planned, face-to-face and digital, so if you couldn't make the last one, be sure to sign up for the next one or visit our FAQ page.

If you have a specific question before then, please feel free to email us on CTE.admissions@warwick.ac.uk

We look forward to speaking with you soon!
