Before You Start
Before You Start
If you’re eager to get started but still have a while to go before your first day, there are plenty of things you can do in preparation for the upcoming year.
Familiarise yourself with the handbook:
- The handbook provides information about absolutely anything from your modules, to facilities, to term dates, to sources of key information, to instructions for how to contact academic staff and student support.
- Familiarising yourself with the handbook puts you at a huge advantage going forward and may answer any questions you might have.
Look at module options:
- As an exchange student, you are able to study modules across the three years of study, as well as modules hosted by other departments.
- Click here to find out about your module options. It is important to read through this information so that you are aware of certain prerequisites when opting for a particular module.
Get to know the University:
- Outside of classes, there are economics societies and a wide range of societies within Warwick, not to mention sports clubs and social events. See Warwick Students' Union.
- The University hosts its own gym, a student’s union bar, a sports bar, tennis and basketball courts, a grocery store, an arts centre, and a variety of food vendors!
How is your level of English?
- All classes are taught entirely in English. Some classes can be fast, intense and can contain lots of jargon which you may not have learned.
- If you are travelling from a non-English speaking country and are not comfortable with an advanced level of English, check out our Learn English courses.
Maths and Academic Writing Resources:
- The Economics Department has a page dedicated to a refresher in mathematics and guidance for writing to the expected standard for assessments:
