Student Support
Student Support
We want to make sure that every student in the Department has the adequate support needed to get through the year. You can find a wide range of support should you need it.
Academic Support in Economics
If you experience any difficulty or have any burning questions about a particular module, you can make an appointment to see the tutor in their Advice and Feedback hours – details of these are published under their profiles on the people page. You can also go over any missed material you may have missed due to illness.
Undergraduate Support
Should you have any course related questions i.e. modules, timetables etc then drop into the Undergraduate Office in room S0.88 of the Social Sciences building, or alternatively email economics.ugoffice@warwick.ac.uk
In Department Pastoral Support
The Student Support and Progression Officers, Tina MacSkimming and Inga Turner, provide confidential support and signpost to other services available to students throughout their degree. You can find them in S0.91 of the Social Sciences building.
Some of our academics hold key positions alongside their teaching commitments that you may find of some use. Click here for information on Academic and Pastoral Support Drop-in Sessions.
Personal Tutor
Taha Movahedi will be your Personal Tutor and is the person you can talk to about your module selections, academic progress, how you’re settling in and your overall wellbeing. Taha will also host your welcome event along with members of the undergraduate team.
University Wide Support
Separate to our Department Pastoral support, the University has a Wellbeing and Student Support hub which is packed full of useful information and self-help resources.
Immigration Services
The university has a dedicated team who can advise you on what to do if you have any issues with your visa at immigrationservice@warwick.ac.uk.
Additional Resources
The university offers plenty of resources for independent study outside of the classroom. Make sure to check out the university’s Library for academic resources, as well as your Moodle page for resources for each module and lecture recordings, put on there by the module leaders themselves.
Additional resources for essay writing:
- Students must ensure they are familiar with the Academic Integrity Framework, and with Regulation 11
- Referencing
- Avoiding Plagiarism
- Moodle courses on academic referencing - all students are expected to complete these
- Marking criteria
- In-Sessional English Classes
Student Mobility
