We have acted on your feedback
We have acted on your feedback

We have worked together to implement significant improvements to your teaching and learning experience. The changes detailed below are a direct response to your valuable feedback and demonstrate the shared commitment of both students and staff to providing an outstanding educational environment.
Teaching on your course

You told us…
You wanted more contact time…
So we decided to...
…return to all in-person lectures this academic year, allowing students to ask immediate questions and clarifications. And we...
...added extra support and feedback classes to optional modules.
You told us…
You appreciate frequent Support and Feedback classes and enjoy the interactive and personalised learning opportunities they provide…
So we decided to...
…introduce biweekly Support and Feedback classes on our optional modules in 2024/25.

You told us…
You think that there are improvements to be made in the content of modules…
So we decided to...
…launch a review of our curriculum to improve our degree programmes, address student needs, and adapt to the evolving educational and professional environment.
Learning Resources
You told us…
You wanted whiteboards in the study rooms to support group work and collaborative study.
So we decided to...
Purchase and install four new whiteboards; one for each MSc study room.

Engagement

You told us…
Feedback on assessments could be slow…
So we decided to...
…let our academics know that marks and feedback could be released ahead of the 20 working day deadline.
You told us…
You wanted a clearer understanding of skills acquired in each module to develop your employability profile…
So we decided to...
… create a Module Skills page to help you understand how each module taken equips you with important skills as you progress through your degree. Visit our Module Skills page

Community and Belonging

You told us…
You wanted more opportunities to interact with students...
So we decided to...
… continue to improve social interaction in 24/25, working closely with your SSLC reps to identify activities that our cohort will enjoy. We recently added regular wellbeing breakfasts and brunches, more sport events.
You told us…
You would like more opportunities to connect with MRes students, both socially and to share advice in informal settings.
So we decided to...
Organise more shared events for both MSc and MRes students. We introduced additional events such as a scones breakfast and board game sessions.

Services

You told us…
Buses to the University of Warwick are often late or irregular, and it feels like nothing is being done.
So we decided to...
Follow up with the Student Union. Following discussions between the Students’ Union and Stagecoach, changes have been made to the bus service. Bus U2 has been replaced by the U1A, which now runs towards Warwick Gates rather than terminating in the town centre. Both the U1 and U1A operate every 30 minutes, providing a combined frequency of every 15 minutes. These changes came into effect on 25 April 2026.
Assessment and Feedback
You told us…
You were unhappy with online exams. They are stressful, prone to technical problems, and you have concerns about academic misconduct...
So we decided to...
…make all exams in person from 2024/25.

Communication

You told us…
You would like more information during the admission process about accommodation options and the best off campus locations for students.
So we decided to...
Support
You told us…
More support could be provided for PGT students...
So we decided to...
… introduce Wellbeing and Progression officers to provide all postgraduate students with a dedicated contact for their wellbeing needs, in addition to their academic personal tutor and our Senior Tutor.

Support for Research Costs and IT - MRes

You told us…
You wanted more flexibility with regard to how you spend your allocation of £1,200 from the Research Student Conference and Research Costs Budget, including access to summer schools.
So we decided to...
revise the policy, introducing more flexibility. Students can now use their allocation from the fund to pay for fieldwork, purchase of data or equipment or attendance at a summer school, but they must get support from their supervisor for the funding request. Final decisions on expenditure are made by Directors MRes/PhD.
