Careers in Economics 2019

Come and network with a range of employers and management consultancies and take part in careers and skills sessions to enhance your employability.

This event is for both undergraduate and postgraduate students studying Economics (this includes our joint honours students).

To make the most of this event, we have prepared for you a handout with guidelines on how to interact with the employers for you to collect on arrival at the venue. Thursday 7 November 2019, 12.00pm to 4.45pm
Panorama, Rootes Building

You will have an opportunity to meet and discuss your career options with representatives from a wide range of employers, including PA Consulting, Ofcom, Nera Economic Consulting, Compass Lexecon, RBB Economics, Brattle Group, Cornerstone, Competition and Markets Authority, Economic Insight, Ofwat* Government Economic Service*, KPMG and FTI Consulting.

*We are sorry to announce that these employers have had to cancel their visit due to Purdah (the pre-election period in the United Kingdom, specifically the time between the announcement of an election and the formation of the new elected government.)

Employer Presentations

This will be held in Panorama 3 and will have three unique employers delivering presentations with various economics related topics. After each presentations, there will be 10 minutes of Q&A with that employer who will clarify every questions and uncertainties you might have. These will be spread across the entire duration of the event in the following order:

16:10 - 16:45 Postgraduate Study in Economics – course choice and applications - Dr Jennifer Smith, Director of Postgraduate Studies

Registration

Registration is compulsory and you'll need to sign up via Tabula. Further information is available below. Your student ID card will be scanned upon entry.

You will need to indicate which of the separate sessions listed in the Event Programme below you wish to register. To register for these sessions, go into Tabula and search for module code 'EC-GENERAL'.
Please note: Photography will be taking place at this event, which may be used for marketing purposes (e.g. promotional materials). By registering your attendance at this event, you are giving consent to be photographed, however if you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the photographer or a member of Economics staff on the day.
