The conference papers will be evaluated by a scientific committee, consisting of Warwick Economics PhD students and faculty members. Anyone can attend, but only PhD students can present. Papers from all economics and related disciplines are welcome. We are not looking for polished papers exclusively; early stage projects are also very welcome.

The Warwick PhD Conference hosts two kinds of presentation sessions:

  • A 20-minute talk followed by a 5 minute discussion and space for further questions and discussion with the audience;
  • A 90-minute poster session.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Please submit an extended abstract of strictly no more than 3 pages and conforming to the criteria hereby listed. Abstracts can contain figures and tables, as long as they do not exceed the 3-page limit with at least one-inch margins and font-size of no less than 11 point. The abstract should clearly outline the contribution, methodology, data utilized (if empirical) and findings/results of the paper, allowing the reviewer to perform an informed evaluation of the work.

 Kindly also make sure that the abstract does not contain your name, institution, or any other identification information. We will prioritise single-authored papers and papers co-authored with other PhD students, over those written with faculty members.

DEADLINE AND SELECTION

The deadline for submission is Sunday 5 January 2020 (Midnight GMT), but the earlier the better. We kindly ask applicants to submit only one application under their name: if multiple abstracts are submitted, only the earliest application will be evaluated. Applicants will be notified regarding the decision via email by mid-March 2020 at the latest. The application form and updated information can be found on the conference webpage.

ACCOMMODATION AND FUNDING

For delegates travelling from Europe, a maximum of £350 of reimbursement for travelling expenses will be available. For delegates travelling from the rest of the world, a maximum travelling cost of £700 will be available. All registered attendees and presenters will have lunches and dinners provided.
