Careers in Economics Webinar Series 2021-22

Over the past few years we have found that students from Warwick’s Economics Department have highly valued the opportunity to meet with employers and former students of the Department to explore the range of economics related careers.

The Water Services Regulation Authority, Ofwat, is the body responsible for economic regulation of the privatised water and sewerage industry in England and Wales. It is a non-ministerial government department, which was established in 1989 when the water and sewerage industry in England and Wales was privatised. Ofwat’s main statutory duties include protecting the interests of consumers, securing the long-term resilience of water supply and waterway systems, and ensuring that companies carry out their functions and are able to finance them

About the talk

As part of our Careers in Economics Webinar Series we will be joined by three economists from Ofwat: Enrico Russo, Milton Hugo Salas-Martinez and Gilda Romano. Gilda completed her MSc Economics at Warwick in 2017 and we look forward to catching up with her and having the opportunity to ask her to reflect on her time at Warwick and what skills and training she found most valuable in her career to date.

The speakers will be introduced by Professor Caroline Elliott and the Q&A session will be conducted jointly by Professor Caroline Elliott and Stephanie Redding, our Senior Careers Consultant.
