Economics Summer Graduation Reception

Congratulations to all our students who will be graduating this summer.

On Tuesday 28th July, our Undergraduate and Postgraduate students will be awarded their degrees at their graduation ceremony which will take place at 11am in Butterworth Hall (Warwick Arts Centre).

Later in the day, graduates along with their family and friends are invited to join academic and administrative staff from the Department of Economics to celebrate their graduation success and achievements for a lunchtime reception of drinks, food and music, taking place at 12:30pm-3:00pm in the Panorama Suite, Rootes Building.

Message from Jeremy Smith

"It has been a real privilege to see you grow and develop during your time in the Department of Economics at Warwick, and I want to say how proud we are of all you have achieved. Each of you has contributed to the distinct character of our department—bringing curiosity to your studies, rigour to your thinking, and generosity to the community around you.

Graduation is a special milestone. It marks not only the end of your degree, but also the many challenges you have taken on and the resilience you have shown in meeting them. I hope you take a moment to reflect on all of that, and to celebrate it fully. As you move on, you do so as Warwick economists: equipped not just with knowledge and technical skills, but with a way of thinking about the world that will serve you in many different paths. You also remain part of our community. We will be following your journeys with great interest and pride, and we would always love to hear from you - so please do stay in touch and share your successes with us."

Department Photo on Graduation Day

Immediately following your Graduation ceremony, an official department photograph will be taken in the Piazza. This is a wonderful opportunity to capture a lasting memory of your time at university, so we hope as many of you as possible will attend.

Two versions of the photograph are offered - one with mortar boards on heads and one with them thrown up in the air.

Photos from the Day

Photos will also be taken by our professional photographer throughout the day, these will be made available online after the Graduation. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the photographer or a member of staff on the day or email claire.johnson@warwick.ac.uk.

Reception Registration

Following the group photographs, we hope you will join us at the Graduation Reception in the Panorama Suites for celebratory drinks, food and music. For catering purposes, registration is required to attend the reception. Also, please indicate how many people you will be bringing with you (max. 2 due to the capacity of the venue).
