Economist Kotlikoff Ridicules the Vickers Commission report

Speaking at the University of Warwick on 31 May, Laurence J. Kotlikoff - Boston University economist and leading expert on fiscal policy, national savings and personal finance - delivered a powerful rebuke of the recommendations of the Vickers Independent Commission on Banking. He used the lecture to offer his own, strikingly different solution, detailing the basic elements underlying limited purpose banking, a concept he said had been endorsed by a wide array of policy makers of various political stripes, and leading economists, including a number of Nobel Laureates.
