Dr McMahon comments on The Autumn Statement
Wednesday 10 Dec 2014On 3 December, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, delivered the autumn statement, unveiling a financial package he hopes will convince voters to deliver a Conservative majority in May 2015.
In response to the announcements, The Economist hosted a round-table discussion of the statement and the direction of British economic policy. From the Department of Economics, Dr Michael McMahon wrote a reaction which was published on The Economist blog site.
