About me
Microeconomist who mainly focuses on theory. Interested in anything weird, think lots about drugs and temptation. Also interested in lots of different sub-genres; happy to discuss advisor communication, bayesian persuasion, network theory, information theory or optimal stopping problems.

- Abstract: Many consumption goods can lead to withdrawal effects when one stops consuming, whether one is susceptible to these symptoms is often unknown until one suffers the pain associated. Individuals can therefore rationalise consuming these goods and then stopping to learn whether they are susceptible to these withdrawal effects. I model the optimal consumption decisions when there is uncertainty over withdrawal susceptibility, my model suggests that those who are highly confident will never voluntarily learn whether they are susceptible, and those with low confidence will purposely moderate consumption in order to safely experiment with the goods.
