LinC Student Opportunities 2025/26Applications are now open
Warwick Law in the Community (LinC) is pleased to collaborate with Advicenow to offer students placement opportunities during term 2 of the 2025/26 academic year. Advicenow is a UK-based independent, not-for-profit legal information service and charity that helps people understand and deal with everyday legal problems.
Join this opportunity to explore housing law and help make legal information accessible to the public through video.

Eligibility
Opportunities with this placement are open to students on:
LA308 Social Welfare Law only.
We are planning to recruit 2 student volunteers. We are looking for students with the following skills and attributes:
- Good research and information-summarising skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Creativity for presenting ideas through video
- Familiarity with social media/video platforms
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Organisation and time management
- An interest in housing law
What's Involved?
Volunteers will extract key facts from our legal resources, research how others use video and social media (including TikTok) to communicate legal topics, and develop ideas for presenting these messages in engaging ways.
Students volunteering for this placement are expected to commit 3–5 hours per week over Term 2, which runs for 10 weeks starting the week of 26 January.
This is a volunteer placement, offering flexible hours, with meetings conducted online.

An in-person interview is on Tuesday, 20 January 2026 (times are to be confirmed).
Students will be working towards extrapolating stand alone, key facts from our legal resources in order to generate ideas on how to convey these topics through video. Students will learn about housing law and also have the added experience of research around the use of tiktok and video for conveying legal information in an accessible way to the public.
Meetings with students will take place fortnightly.
