The First Weeks of Term
We know that starting your Master's degree can be both exciting and at times overwhelming, but we are here to support you. Please find details below of the activities taking place for you during Welcome Week and your first Week of Term.
Welcome Week
Monday 23 - Friday 27 September 2024
The Law School has organised a schedule of activities for you during Welcome Week to complement the sessions on offer across the University. You can access these activities on your Welcome Week Timetable.Link opens in a new window

During this week, you will access module taster sessions which are aimed at giving you a preview of what to expect in each optional module, so that you can make an informed decision about which modules you would like to sign up for.
Week One
Monday 30 September - Friday 4 October 2024
You are invuted to join us at the following event taking place during Week 1:

Opportunities Fair Visit our departmental Opportunities Fair and learn all about the different activities and initiatives you can join in addition to your studies. We'll be joined by representatives of all Law-related student societies, Lacuna, Law in Community, School Tasking, Careers Support and others. All students are welcome to join! |

The Commercial, Corporate and Economic Law (CCEL) LLM modules all start in Week 1. These modules are all those on the International Economic Law (IEL), International Corporate Governance & Financial Regulation (ICGFR) and International Commercial Law programmes (ICL). These modules run for 9 weeks. With a reading week in Week 6.
The IDLHR (International Development Law and Human Rights) modules all start in Week 2. They run for 8 weeks with a Reading week in Week 6.
ALS (Advanced Legal Studies) students can take modules from any programme. Please check to see which programme the module falls under to determine the start date.
Checklist - 2024/25
By Monday 23 September
Please make sure that you’ve completed online enrolment with the University. You will then have access to your Warwick IT & email account.
Monday 23 September – Friday 27 September
We will have a variety of sessions to introduce you to your course and the Law School community (see timetable).
By 6pm BST on Wednesday 25 September
Having watched the module taster videos, please make sure that you have completed the online module registration form to make your module choices for both term 1 and term 2. Make sure you check the timetables before making your choices to confirm there are no clashes.
By Friday 27 September
Make sure that you have read through the Law School Postgraduate Handbook and please familiarise yourself with the Online Student Hub. Both contain a lot of useful information, key dates and guidance.
Our Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) is key for sharing student feedback and helping us improve the courses. The Student Experience Team will contact you with information about nominations for course representatives and training opportunities.
Monday 30 September – Friday 8 November
Contact your Personal Tutor by email to arrange an initial in person or online meeting with them. It is important to do so in the first few weeks of classes and no later than week six of term one. You will be able to see who your Personal Tutor is through your Tabula Profile. Once you have met with them you can record a note of your meeting on Tabula.
