From Studying Law to Employability: What Clients Want and What Firms Now Demand
Location: S0.18
The legal market has changed dramatically. Clients arrive informed, expect advice rather than information, and evaluate lawyers as service providers. At the same time, law firms now expect graduates to bring communication skills, commercial awareness, visibility, and adaptability alongside legal knowledge.
This talk, from Craig Sharpe, a lawyer and marketing consultant with over 25 years experience, who works with firms including Taylor Rose, provides students with a realistic view of the modern legal job market.
Craig explains what’s changed in the legal profession (and why knowing about this is crucial), why working in and marketing for different areas of law such as family law or commercial law can be radically different, how to create your own opportunities and stand out when applying to law firms.
