PhD Writing Bootcamp

Runs from Monday, May 01 to Friday, May 05.

The Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) at the Law School is organising a five-day ‘PhD Writing Bootcamp’ from 1st May to 5th May 2023. The idea is to do some writing using the Pomodoro technique (40-minute writing sprints with 5-minute breaks in between each).

The Bootcamp will run in two sessions from 9 am to 4 pm each day (morning 9 am -12 pm; afternoon 1-4 pm). You have the option to attend the event in person as well as online. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

British Association of Comparative Law PGR Workshop
Warwick Law School

Runs from Tuesday, May 02 to Wednesday, May 03.

The Warwick Law School, University of Warwick, is pleased to host the 2023 British Association of Comparative Law annual postgraduate workshop. The workshop is open to PhD candidates at any stage of their research, from any part of the world, who work on any aspect of Comparative Law. The event will be held over two half-days: the afternoon of Tuesday 2 May, and the morning of Wednesday 3 May. The workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to present work in progress, receive feedback on their work from leading comparative scholars, engage in networking activities, and learn more about the pathway from PhD to publication from Intersentia Publishing.

Guide to Personal Statement Writing
Teams

This session will guide students through drafting an effective personal statement for either academic or professional pursuits. Students will be guided through self-discovery reflections intended to boost self-confidence and to help the application writing process. These reflections will be followed by in-class writing-up and collaborative peer editing activities. If you are struggling with applications, or just want to level-up your personal statement writing, this is the session for you!
