Dr Maryna Utkina and Dr Aisel Omarova, Associate Tutors at Warwick Law School and British Academy Fellows participated in the Comprehensive Leadership Training Programme on 23 October – 1 November 2023.

The programme organised by the British Academy in partnership with AdvanceHE brought together scholars and professionals from various fields to enhance leadership skills and equip participants with the tools and necessary knowledge for effective leadership in the academic world.

Modules in the training programme included:

• Personal Leadership Development in Research which focused on essential aspects of leadership and management in research, including effective and creative leadership, transitioning to a leadership role, and fostering high-performing teams. It aimed to equip participants with skills crucial for success in the dynamic research and academia landscape.
• Introduction to Management and Leadership in Academic Research Environments which emphasised building and managing research teams, effective research management, leadership during turbulent times, project management, and developing a research leader career. The module aimed to provide participants with essential skills for effective management and leadership in the evolving academic research environment.
